Most people say this is impossible to do, but, it's not 
The trick is to forget trying to heal of Curator and don't really dps him much in his normal phase. Concentrate on the orbs, they are not immune to diseases and you can heal yourself from them. This was only my second attempt at Curator and if I go back again (I should do, Kara nets around 800g from boss kills and vendoring loot) I will probably try using lower rank IT and PS on the orbs, this means they'll stay alive longer and give me more healing.
Once you get to the enrage phase it really gets tough, make sure you keep an orb up as long as possible to tab Death Strike off and then keep all your healing cooldowns up and nuke away! It's touch and go at that point. You could probably leave your Army cooldown till that point as well though using it on an evoc was a LOT of dps!

if you have some problems with targeting on sparks try macroses with
/cast [target:Astral Flare] IT / PS / DS

though at one point death strike heals would crit along with the damage crit, thus healing me for 8k at some points. Hence why unholy was popular

It is tough and I wouldn’t like to count the amount of wipes I’ve had trying to get this done when I was learning it. Keep trying and it’s worth it once you eventually get him dead.
I’ve changed my soloing spec recently, with trying to solo a number of lvl 80 heroics (and normal instances) this new spec suits me well as it allows much more healing on trash (which is one of the harder parts tbh)

58/8/5 – This spec (which I use) is still fine for soloing all of Kara and should make it a little easier on Curator since I now take 3/3 Spell Deflection meaning you have more chance to take less dmg from Curators adds and the arcane bolt he does.

i try this with my blood spec and the best ive done is about 40% i just cant seem to keep the healing up, i sometimes miss click and use a icy touch on the boss instead of a spark that came out.. so i wasted the rune i was going to use for a DS heal…
your armory has also changed so i cant see what spec you used before.

Yep I did. That’s the spec I use for all my soloing stuff. Just gotta figure a way to do Netherspite and I’ll be happy now!

Yes, it works better after the ‘nerf’ of death strike! After 3.1.2 Blood Spec will get even more healing from Death Strike so will be even better again!
